Tuesday Morning Sketches #736

Thanks for stopping by for Tuesday Morning Sketches #736.

I can’t seem to even keep track of time anymore but I lost a couple weeks sick and  coughing my head off.  I’m all better now just behind on everything.

I hope your holiday season is going really well.  Mine is going way too fast but then I guess it always does. I had to really rush my card, it just seems like I have no time these days.  It felt really good to at least take a few minutes for some fun.  I set the stopwatch on my phone and here is how long this card took:

I realized I forgot to round the corners but wasn’t starting over so I rounded the corners on the tiny sentiment.

Not too bad considering that included figuring out what to use for the trees, papers, die and embossing folder plus putting together.

So I hope you join us over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and have FUN!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #734

I’m so sad, I realized that I never posted  Tuesday Morning Sketches #734 but just for the record here it is. I put more work into to this one than I have put in on one card for a long long time…oh well. No use crying over spilt milk right?

See you soon for the next Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #733

HI, hi, hi!!!

Thank you for stopping by for  Tuesday Morning Sketches #733 : )

Is playing in your crafty place an even more wonderful escape from all that is going on these days?  For me it sure is.  I used the same Maggie Holmes Woodland Grove papers and stickers as last week but it did take some effort to strategically cut where I could protect more whole animals lol.

I decided to make this for my daughter in law.  I keep goofing up and just giving her one of my generic made for whoever cards and not one specifically meant for her.  She loves green and yellow and books so much - I think this is perfect for her. So now I already have it ready to file under next SEPTEMBER!!  Haha so unlike me - but very happy to say that.

I’m looking forward as always to one of the best parts of the week —checking out what you all make for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #732

Hi there!  I hope your week is going well.  Here’s my creation for Tuesday Morning Sketches #732.

I stamped!!  Haha, I know I’ve been a lazy bones lately.  I feel like I’m always short on time and for this one I loved the sketch but I just had such a hard time getting inspired by anything I put my hands on.  I was just so meh! I ended up using this Maggie Holmes Woodland Grove paper and stickers along with CTMH sequins, white daisy & sage cardstock, evergreen ink and an older retired stamp set.

I’m sure you will do great with it and I can’t wait to see what you make for Tuesday Morning Sketches this week!! Enjoy!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #731

Happy Halloween!

Thanks once again for stopping by for the latest Tuesday Morning Sketches #731.  Big news—I kinda cheated haha been doing that quite a bit.  I did however need to pick papers & use embossing folder etc.  It was still fun and what else are you supposed to do with these great stickers?  Guess what is prob the neatest thing about this card?  That ribbon and little flower I’ve posted a few times before, they are actually from my granddaughter's baby shower favors - she’ll be 13 next month!!

It’s your turn now to head on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  Have fun!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #730

Hi & thanks so much for stopping by for Tuesday Morning Sketches #730.

I was a little lazy and didn’t angle every element of the sketch - I just needed to simplify and save a little time.  I kinda regret it in a way though because it is really cool with all the elements.

I’m trying to be a little more intentional with what I make and be sure I’m ready for everyone’s birthday instead of just creating random whatever cards. I know I will still be doing plenty of random just cuz that seems to be how I roll but this card I planned for my daughter.  She has been hiking and fishing and doing all manner of outdoors activities so I thought this fun tree paper would be great for a card for her.  I didn’t really have that in mind when I picked out this paper - I just liked it!

This paper is by American Crafts and it was part of my Joann’s splurge - I should have bought more than one because I kinda thought it was most likely that I would use it on a scrapbook page. Not that I’ve been scrapbooking but I mean to! LOL

I used pretty much the whole 12 x 12 piece for the card and envelope.  Accidentally cut the square for the envelope too small so I had to improvise and I actually really like how it turned out :) - happy accident.

I’m excited to see what you make Tuesday Morning Sketches this week and thank you again for being here!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #729

Hi there & happy Tuesday (or whatever!)!

Thanks for being here!  It’s time for Tuesday Morning Sketches #729.  I never thought I would but I really love these mini slimline cards.  The size I have been doing the most lately is 3.5 X 6.  It  fits the minimum requirements for the Post Office and I can get two from a piece of 12 x 12 card stock.

I lost my will power and went in Joann’s the other day to spend $10.  Well $40 later lol I got out of there before spending even more.  I did get a Christmas gift for someone and a stamp and die set, a die and a bunch of paper all on sale.  Oh well.

One of my favorite things was this really pretty patterned vellum.  It is so pretty in person!  I thought about sticking a little butterfly on the front but I didn’t want to cover any more of the paper than I already did with my sentiment.  I used a Hero Arts stamp & cut set for the sentiment and then the Vellum is American Crafts then all the other card stock and ribbon is Close to My Heart.

Your turn to head on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches and join us for the fun!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #728

Hello & HAPPY FALL!

Boy where I live it seems it’s 80 one day and 60 the next then back to 80 lol.  I’m still enjoying the weather and the change of season and I hope you are too.

My puppies had surgery to get fixed last week and my mistake but I expected them to be more calm and easier than usual and they were not AT ALL. The take home instructions was no running or jumping - ya right! They were so wild that we ended up asking the vet for something to calm them down because we were afraid they were going to split their stitches.

Chip and I have been able to be home for the first 10 days between me working from home a couple and the holiday weekend and him taking vacation so we will get them through this. It rained a couple days and I have muddy walls to clean up now lol you can see in the pic, I had cleaned the floors but not the walls quite yet.  Unfortunately it has become a weekly thing due to the holes they dug in the yard there is mud whenever it rains or we water.

I truly hope to get back on track asap.  Here is what I made for Tuesday Morning Sketches #728.  It is a fun sketch for scraps but did I use scraps—noooo! This is a retired CTMH paper pack from just a couple years ago, it is called As You Grow or something like that. Oh well, I just had a really good time and my granddaughter was visiting so she helped me with sponging, attaching, & embellishing the butterflies.  That is a dream come true for me to be able have her over whenever we want.

Your turn, looking forward to seeing what you make for Tuesday Morning Sketches#728!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #725

Hello happy Tuesday! Already! But the good thing is it is time for  Tuesday Morning Sketches #725.

As I for-warned…here is another Christmas “anti-stampo” card.  Sometimes I feel a little tad bit guilty for not doing more for a card but I decided to stick to my same definition as I do for the term “homemade” so if you cook or bake something my thought is anything you have to actually do anything to is homemade - right???  So if you make brownies from a box, that you have to add the eggs etc to they are “homemade” maybe not made from “scratch” but still homemade cuz you didn’t just get a container of already made brownies.

Well thats enough of my defense haha, but this was still super fun to make and I used papers from CTMH a couple years ago. Yay me!!  This is a 3.5 x 6 card and I think just perfect for gift cards this year.  I will be making one this same size for each person in my niece & nephews family to send their gift cards in.

I decided to switch up the envelope and have it open on the side instead of the top. That reminded me of once in my monthly workshops we made sachets with envelopes the same way.

Well as usual I’m totally looking forward to seeing what you make for Tuesday Morning Sketches this week - have fun!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #724

Thank you for stopping by to check out Tuesday Morning Sketches #724!

Ahhh if you have never taken this approach when in a bit of “crafters block” or just a plain seemingly never ending constant time crunch takes you over, I encourage you to try creating a series. I did a “series” of preselected stamp sets for several weeks and it took just enough of decision making off my plate each week to really help me enjoy the other elements of the process a ton more.

This is the second card in my “month of Christmas cards” series.  My underlying theme is also super easy anti-stampo once again.  You gotta know I love I mean I LOVE stamping but but sometimes life calls for a spell of simplifying!

This week and the next two weeks are going to be super simple but I think they are at least still pretty nice cards that my family and friends will like. I’m also still working with older paper packs.  This week I used CTMH “Oh What Fun” from 2018!!  You can see the sheet of cutouts that I used for the sentiment and one of the patterned papers. What a great testament to the fun designs that I still love this paper and it’s coordinating goodies even though it is 5 years old!

I made it through the month of August without buying any “artsy/crafty wants”- let’s see if I can make it through September.

I’m super excited to see what you make for Tuesday Morning Sketches this week-enjoy!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #723

OMG! I was so excited to share this  Tuesday Morning Sketches #723 then I forgot and didn’t post this on time!  Going through a spell here not staying on top of things very well.

I do however have my next few planned already so should be able to pull them off.  I decided to do Christmas cards all month.  I know most people do Christmas in July crafty things or all year long but getting some done in September is really good for me. Let’s see if I get them mailed this year for a change!

I’m trying not to buy ANYTHING that is a want and only get needs between now and Black Friday—sounds like a long time right now but it has been actually pretty enjoyable pulling out all the holiday paper I have accumulated over the years.

So now your turn! I hope to see you soon at Tuesday Morning Sketches!! Have fun creating!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #721

Welcome!!  Thank you for stopping by!!

Of course the week just flew by again it is already Tuesday Morning Sketches #721.  I confess I broke away from my 6 week plan again and just went with a super easy anti-stampo card :)  that’s my word you know like anti-pasta salad?  lol

All I used was paper from my fav Carta Bella Floral #3 12 x 12 pack.  Let me know if you get sick of seeing it because I just may never get sick of creating with it!! I may eventually run out though.

One thing I will add is that it is very hard to fold for the envelope so I scored the lines then very lightly misted with water and it was still cracking a little.

I know your life is busy and flying by way to quick also so I wish you some fun little crafty snatches of time to join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #720

Hi there, already time for  Tuesday Morning Sketches #720!

Sounds like everyone I know is having an EXTRA busy summer!  Way to go out with a bang - right? I rushed this card as quickly as I could.  I got to hang out with my kids and grandkids for a staycation (for me) for 8 days!  So after spending the better part of the last 8 days with 10 loved ones needless to say the house is a bit (actually a lot) too quiet!

Ok your turn to head on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches and join the fun!!

Ok one last thing here’s one of the pics from this week’s fun!
