Tuesday Morning Sketches #434 Anything Goes

We do this only once a year so I really was looking forward to it and had high hopes for my contribution to our TMS Anything Goes challenge this week but I didn't pull off my original plan.  However this is something I've been meaning to do for a while.  I thought I would get a bit more added to this Priority Mail envelope but this was it for this week.  I had to keep them simple because I need 7 of them.

The stamp is from CTMH, I stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Prima brush markers and Stabilo fine tip markers for the teeny tiny lights. Plus I added a little Sakura gel pen for the white highlights. I thought I was tricky doing the lights in blue and red like the Priority Mail colors.  I was originally going to do a christmas tree and that would have given it a pop of another color but the friends that I'm sending this too are into woodsy stuff.

Hubby had his knee replaced on Thursday and low and behold he got out of the hospital a day early on this Saturday instead of Sunday so I had to scramble back & forth so many times to the hospital and also with working OT well...you know me I can't keep up sometimes when life is normal, let alone add home care people and visitors and a patient to attend to added into the mix.

I sooooo appreciate you stopping by, I really really do!!

I hope you get to play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #433

Ahhhh what a relief I'm pretty happy with my card this week.  Our great sketch is by Janice, I accidentally left off the little embellishments and I would add them but I don't want to try and photograph the card again.  I think it took me longer to get a decent pic than it took to make the card!  Sorry about the shadows.

Our sponsor this week is All Dressed Up.  The prize is a digital image of the winner's choice.  My image is from All Dressed up, the die came with my magnetic base plate which I think is American Crafts, the folder I think is from Hobby Lobby Darice maybe, I've had it a few years.  The little crochet button has been in my stash for a LOOOOONG time and the snowflake was cut with a Close to My Heart Circuit cartridge.

I know it's a busy time of year but this sketch is extra fun so I hope you get to play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #432

Hello, it's your friendly neighborhood ditz reporting today with her card for Tuesday Morning Sketches #432.

I've really been struggling with all I've been juggling lately, in fact I just noticed that I never added my card to our site last week. Plus this week I added it so late I'm not sure I did it in time.  My first try at this was a major - FAIL.  Have you ever had an idea you felt so sure should work but you just couldn't seem to pull it off?  Well that's what happened to me.

This is my second attempt with this idea with the images and paper from our sponsor at We Are 3.  I don't think I did their cute stuff justice at all but I hope you check out what the rest of the team made because they really rocked the sketch and supplies!!

I hope you get to play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #431

Good good Tuesday morning!!

My week just FLEW! How about yours?  I have to make this quick because I stayed up way past my bedtime last night.  We went to a Handel's Messiah Sing Along (ha - but I didn't sing lol, wouldn't want to ruin anyone's night) It was so fun but got home so late & had to get up and work a 12 hour Cyber Monday starting at 6:00 a.m.

I did squeeze in just barely enough time to make a couple cards with our TMS sketch # 431.  I do like them better in person but that's often the case.  It was fun playing with the Beary Christmas stamps & dies set from CTMH.

Of course. . . .I hope you get to play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #430

Hi there and happy Tuesday!

Are you counting your blessings this week? I think I count my blessings quite a bit but I can also have my little pity parties once in a while too.  It's pretty much always in regards to the fact that I'm hours away from my kids & grands and during the holidays it's even harder than usual. Well anyway it's always a good distraction to play along with our TMS Design Team and you all!!

Ok, so for card #1 I used a Cuttlebug embossing border folder, a Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and my CTMH Cricut Artitst cartridge for the vellum heart. I also used the CTMH clear shimmer pen all over the butterfly and the heart.
I cut out three hearts of different sizes not knowing the size I would like best.  After I finished up I realized that I really should have used the bigger one.

Which brings me to card #2.  I was thinking I always tend to choose pretty pastels - I need to make something a little more bold.  So I grabbed the two other hearts and a scrap of border paper plus cut out another red heart the next size up and threw it together.  I used mini dots to attach the vellum and covered them up with the enamel hearts.

My third card was loosely inspired by the sketch.  It was a piece that I embossed "Thanks" on just to practice for a card I did a few weeks back.  I lazily used the piece from the other side to die cut a scallop thinking I was just going to toss it.  But after making the other two cards and spotting it on my desk, I had a second thought. The nice oversize scalloped circle reminded me of the oversize heart from our sketch so I layered it on a piece of BGP and stuck a butterfly in the middle.

My thanks to Melissa our fearless leader over at TMS for her great sketch and inspiring me to rescue that scrap and turn it into something I can definitely use.

So is there a partially started "something" in your craft space you can rescue and use this week when you play along with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches?

Tuesday Morning Sketches #429

Hello and happy Tuesday once again :) it's time for another really fun sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches #429.  Our team is sponsoring this week, the prize is a really cute little Christmas tree stamp and die set.

I treated myself to a little extra me time so I was able to create 3 cards for this sketch.  Doing them all so close to the same really saved some time. I got a little wrapped up in it and didn't realize that I should have made the middle section thicker but I was just so  happy with my loopy punched (Martha Stewart punch) gold border that I didn't look at the sketch as often as I should have.

I used a retired CTMH stamp and die set then colored with various alcohol markers, I have a few Shin Han, Copic and Prisma and love them all.  I wanted to stamp with Charcoal instead of black so I used my Misti tool to stamp so I could re stamp again to freshen up the lines after coloring - gotta love that Misti.  I think I needed to let the pink and blue one dry a little more before re stamping but nevertheless I'm ok with how they all turned out.

I hope you get to play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #428

Hello there,

So it's only 16 days till Thanksgiving can you believe it???  I have 3 major birthdays this month so that always makes me procrastinate a bit so far as thinking about Thanksgiving & Christmas.

I really got pinched for time on this card I feel like I could have done better but it was wam bam first try is getting posted!!  I was so busy this weekend working on the tile for our guest shower remodel.  I feel pretty accomplished even if I do say so myself. The red on the walls is waterproofing.

So here is my card I used digital supplies from one of our frequent sponsors We Are 3.   Paper is called Storybook Christmas, and sentiment is Christmas Greetings.  is actually a digital shop opened by Bonnie, a former TMS Design Team member! She is sponsoring our challenge this week, the prize is a $15 voucher to the shop (excludes handmade cards).

Thanks so much for stopping by, we would all love to have you play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #427

Well hello and happy Trick or Treat day!

As much as I like fall I pretty much still give up summer kicking & screaming (on the inside of course, you know what I mean).  I just love flowers, colors and sunshine.  Fall has a beauty all it's own but I'm definitely a spring & summer girl.

The reason why I brought that up is that I tried, I really really did try to make a fall card this week.  I started one in pretty New England Ivy and Nutmeg, then another in Nutmeg with gold accents and they're still sitting on my table.  I may never finish them lol.

One thing led to another and I succumbed to my Kraft addiction once again.  I thought I was pretty tricky when I trimmed a little thin piece of foam tape to put behind the white & gold ribbon but my most favorite treat on this card is how cool the gold shimmer looks on the embossed hearts - a ton better in person but you can get an idea of about how it looks in the photo, glitter/shimmer is so hard to capture in a pic. Sorry for the shadows.

I'm not elaborating much today so if you have any questions just let me know in your comments and I'll be happy to answer.

If your reading this blog I'm sure you are a Treator and no longer a Treatee so I hope you have or have had fun with your little visitors this evening.

I do appreciate you stopping by and would love to have you play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #426

Well hello!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  This week we have another great sketch and prize at Tuesday Morning Sketches #426.

I actually made a couple of other cards this past week that I should be posting - we'll see!!!  As for my TMS card, I wish I didn't cut off quite so much of my circle but I didn't dislike it enough to do it over (close though but laziness won).  I can't remember how long I've been hoarding this glittery border trim but when I saw the sketch this week I knew right away at least some of it was going to get used :)  yes I still have just a few of those cute layered butterflies I purchased at a neat little stationary store in Tucson, AZ a while back.  The Rose Embossing folder and the stamps are current from Close to My Heart.

This week our TMS team is sponsoring and the prize is this way cool Anna Griffin Cain Paisley embossing folder!  I hope you play along - good luck!!

We'll all be your best friend if you stop by and give us your thoughts!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #425

Yikes!  I thought I turned over a new leaf and wasn't going to EVER be late again--oopsey!!

Here's what I made for TMS #425 our sponsor once again is  Bugaboo Stamps, the prize is 4 images of the winner's choice.  Have fun trying to make up your mind on that lol!

I hope I didn't interpret the sketch too loosely  This adorable digi image is called Penguin Joy.  I decided to go digital on the inside too and print out a verse and Merry Christmas on my cards before adding the front.

Thanks for stopping by, we'd love to have you play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #424

Hello & hold the door, it's Tuesday again already!

TMS #424 was created by our fearless leader Melissa Craig. Our team is sponsoring a $10 gift card - your choice Hobby Lobby or Starbucks.

I am slowly getting a little better each week.  I clearly need to get into some type of exercise routine.  My age seems to really be giving me the creaks & groans lately, and I just haven't bounced back from this little virus as quick as usual.  I feel like I jinxed myself by proudly thinking, I haven't caught anything for just over a year.  Then bam - caught something.

Guess I'm still on a Red, White & Kraft kick.  I love that combo.  I decided to start getting ready for a little card making gathering with some friends this month.  I think they will like this.  All supplies are CTMH and all are still available except for the corrugated stars they've been retired several years but I have 100 of them so wanted to create something with those.  I think my fav thing I used is the Confetti Stars embossing folder
