Tuesday Morning Sketches #586

 Happy Christmas week!!!

I do love Christmas but I must admit I let my joy get robbed (I rob it from myself!!) and have been a little woe is me because I have no family to be with this year and I have spent only one Christmas with family out of the last 6 Christmas’s including this year. I’m going to have to make a big effort to change that next year.

Can you believe it is our last challenge for 2020???!!! We always run the last one as “Anything Goes” each year.  I was positively sure that I was going to make it my tradition to make scrapbook pages for this challenge each year but this year I’ve had no mojo and no time.  Not sure why because I used to have an even busier life than I do now but maybe it is just my age or something slowing me down.

I promise these cards are much cuter in person - they look like chalkboard art.  I just used an old embossing folder I think it was Cricut but I’m too lazy to dig through the pile of mess on my craft table to find it. Then I rubbed the raised part with white embossing ink and used Lawn Fawn glow in the dark embossing powder.  That big mess on my table probably has a lot  to do with my lack of mojo too.

I tried to get a good photo of the glow in my dark closet.  Haha it was kind of funny I’ve never tried a “nite” photo with my new phone and it told me to hold still when I was taking it lol!! Believe me I tried to hold still but you’ll see the pic that was the best I could do.

I decided to add a little painting I did a few months ago also I really need to make a card out of it for my sister.

I hope you have a very merry everything and happy Christmas too!!

**Annual Anything Goes**
**runs from 12/22 to 1/3**

Tuesday Morning Sketches #585

Hi & happy Tuesday!!

I’m a little nervous to hear what you think of what I did with this fun Tuesday Morning Sketch #585.  Whenever I do something a little different I think is this ok or is it just dumb?

I do think I like these and they were so much fun to create.  I actually cut all the correct sizes of paper and traced them onto watercolor paper and painted.  Then I grabbed my metallic Tül pens-such a pleasure.  I hope they’re ok I made a set of them I have them in mind for my sis-x-love.  I wanted to keep a minimalist look and didn’t add any embellishments. Tell me the truth (I can handle it!) what do you think?

This is a fun out of the box sketch, our team did amazing with it.  I can hardly wait to see what you make!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #584

 Hello!

I hope this Tuesday finds you happy & healthy!  I left out a couple elements on this Tuesday Morning Sketches #584 because my cute little elephant is pretty ornate and I didn’t want a lot competing with it.

My first thought for a sentiment was going to be along the lines of a belated birthday card but I came across this “Thanks a ton” sentiment first and thought - perfect!!  I picked up the elephants at Joann’s a couple months ago for no reason other than they were so cute.

I hope you have as much fun as I did with this sketch and as always I’m excited to see what you make!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #583

Hello, thank you so much for stopping by!!

I let the week get away from me again!!  Here is what I made for our Tuesday Morning Sketch #583 I finally got started on Christmas cards!  This stamp is from a previous CTMH Stamp of the Month called beautiful friend so I made a couple of these in Christmas colors to send to a couple beautiful friends this year.

I stamped on watercolor paper with CTMH Intense Black Ink using my Misti so I could stamp over a couple times to get a nice soaked in image then used watercolors - sooooo fun!!! I was really happy to have my Misti as well as my little Tim Holtz brush tool to get all the little pieces out of the lacy die cut.  I also made a couple more cards while I had the paper etc. out on my desk.

I hope you had a NICE Thanksgiving and that gratefulness pours over for the remainder of the holidays!!  Let’s not let overly fearful - just careful and enjoy the reason for our celebrations!  Sound good?

I’m looking forward to seeing your fabulous creations - a definite highlight of my week!  Have a NICE week!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #581

Hello!!!  I hope you’re having a NICE Tuesday!! It’s time already for Tuesday Morning Sketch #581!

We are quickly approaching the time of year that the runaway freight train of time is traveling at it’s fastest pace. At least for me anyway how about for you?

I know life looks a lot different for a lot of people but I have already been working from home for over 4 years so that big chunk of my life has remained the same in the midst of the pandemic.  So how will the holidays be for you -more complicated or less complicated?  I work in retail so I haven’t had a Christmas or Thanksgiving with my family since 2014 - that makes me a little sick to my stomach and I really need to work on changing that for next year. Especially since we know all too well more than ever that one just never knows what tomorrow may bring.

So, even though I’m busier I’m going to make a concerted effort to send everyone a special Christmas card that I made just specifically for them. So now that I’ve just blurted that out I have a couple other types of cards for the next several sketches LOL being the procrastinator that I am!!

Here is what I made for TMS#581, sadly I’ve had two of my favorite neighbors move out of town the past few months.  So that means I need a couple of welcome to the neighborhood cards.  I was too lazy to go though and find my welcome to the neighborhood stamp set that I know I have but not sure where so I used some old alphabet stickers from CTMH they are over 5 years old, I still love them, they have a tiny dot resist so you can sponge them any color you want.  They really do match perfect even though the card doesn’t show that so well in my photo.  To top it off I rather tacky-ly (my own made up word) wrote out part of the sentiment.  Hey is’t all about the thought and being hand-made right???

Thankfully I still have quite a few favorite neighbors but the two that moved I will be friends with forever no matter where they go!

The houses are CTMH stickers from the Lovely Paper Packet and the neat little kraft envelopes I found for 50% off at Hobby Lobby.

Now it’s your turn to play right after you check out what the rest of our wonderful team made at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #579

I put a lot of work in this even just threading all those buttons ;o) and then I didn’t even post!  I don’t know what happed to the week but without further ado...here’s what I made for Tuesday Morning Sketches #579!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #578

Here we are already another Tuesday and the last Tuesday in October at that!! We have only 58 days until Christmas! With that said I should be making fall or Christmas cards but noooo I’m still playing with flowery pastels - my favorites by far.

I needed a card for a friend who is going through a lot right now so I got out a set of verses that I won from Verve Stamps years ago when Mojo Monday was up and going. I was happy to remember on the second card that the cross would look neat as a watermark behind the verse—I’ll have to remember to do that more.  I also used the new “Lovely” paper pack from CTMH.

For some reason it took extra effort for me to figure out the dimensions for the pieces for this so I thought I would put that work to a little more use and make two cards.

Now it’s your turn head on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches #578 for our Design Team inspiration and to play along!! I can’t wait to see what you make!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches # 577

Hello thanks so much for stopping by!!

Here’s what I made for Tuesday Morning Sketches #577.  I was learning a little about abstract art in an attempt to get out of my box.  I’ve never tried it ever until this week and I found that it isn’t as easy as I thought it would be to make something I actually like.  I was also in the mood to get out my alcohol inks and they made it a little easier but still this was at least my 4th try!  I guess I must have had beginners luck the first time I tried them a couple years back because I really liked the two things I made back then.  If I find them I’ll try to add to post.

I didn’t think this style lended itself to a bow like the sketch called for and I couldn’t think of a suitable substitute so I left it simple.  There’s soooooo much you can do with this great sketch by Melissa, so head on over and get lots of inspiration from our team.  I hope you have a blast playing with it and I’m looking forward to seeing what you create!!

Have a fabulous week!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #576

 Hello!!

Happy Tuesday!  Here’s what I made for Tuesday Morning Sketches #576.  I used the CTMH Floral Background Thin Cuts die and then watercolored the edge flora after taping off for a clean edge.  I thought it was missing something so I added sketchy lines with a Pigma Micron pen.  I’m not sure if it did that a little too messy or not. It sure was fun though so I made a couple more in other colors to make a set of 3 thinking it would make a nice little surprise gift to a family member.  What do you think do they look ok?

Oops!  After I finished I realized that I got so carried away with coloring and making more that I forgot a sentiment!! I try not to leave off any of the sketch elements but I kind of like them as is for all occasion...what do you think should I add a sentiment?

I hope you have a fabulous week and I appreciate you stopping by. Have fun creating after you check out what the rest of the team made—you’ll be so glad you did!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #574

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope your day is going great!

Here we are another Tuesday in barely more than a blink - right?  Here is what I made for our Tuesday Morning Sketches #574.  This cute ladybug shaker is a retired CTMH die set.  It has a matching set of sentiments that can be stamped inside the window but of course I forgot that part :o/ but I can use it for the inside.

After all was said and done I wish I would have punched a few more leaves.  For the leaves I colored the back of some diagonal line printed vellum, one of those rare times coloring a large enough area to use the chisel tip of my marker.

Arggggghhhh!  Does this ever happen to you?  I don’t know why sometimes it’s a big fight to get the orientation to show up right on photos, usually I would play around with it and trick it to work but I’m just not in the mood for that right now lol.

Anyway you get to see the wings open a little more which was the purpose of this second photo so I guess it’s ok.

Now it’s your turn, looking forward to seeing what you make & of course we would love you all to stop by the team blogs and say hi!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #573

Just a little late today for Tuesday Morning Sketches #573!  I hope better late than never.  This was a really fun and quick card, I punched 10 little butterflies from Carta Bella Subtle Small Floral paper and layered them using both sides of the paper on top of Carta Bella Subtle Wreaths paper.  The sentiment is from CTMH’s Snuggle Up set that I’m so in LOVE with.

I hope you have as much fun as I did with this sketch!!  Check out our design team inspiration and enjoy!!  Just head on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches and enter by Sunday evening. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Tuesday, September 15, 2020

 Hello!

Happy Tuesday!  So....I forgot to post my card last week so I’ll show you that after I show you this week’s card for Tuesday Morning Sketches #572 This was another one that prompted me to cut something on my Cricut — alway nice giving Jiminy some love!  This is brand new CTMH paper and I knew that I had to find a poinsettia for the shape on this sketch.  I put shimmer brush on all the petals.  I did get lazy and instead of finding a tiny Merry Christmas stamp I sat on my rear and wrote Merry Christmas out a few times and picked the one I liked the best.  :o/

Here’s my card from last week, I think it looks like one of those Skeeball games haha oh you win the reindeer if you get your ball in the right slot! It wasn’t intentional by any means but after I was done I couldn’t get it out of my head.

I hope your week goes well and that we get to have you create with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches for this fun sketch by Debbie!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #570

Hello!!  Happy TERRIFIC Tuesday once again!!

Not sure if I pulled this off but I was attempting to make the partial circle look like a birthday cake for this fun Tuesday Morning Sketch  #570 by Debbie.  I used the new Party Time paper packet from the new Close to My Heart core catalog.  The dies are WeRMemory Keepers.  The Happy Birthday is part of one of the “zip strips” from the paper sheets. I also used an older CTMH embossing folder before die cutting the top “layer” of the cake.

Now it’s your turn!!  Looking forward to seeing what you create this week, thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #569

Hello! Happy last Tuesday of August!

This weeks sketch #569 for Tuesday Morning Sketches is another great one by Melissa.  I’m kinda tired of only having time to make one card.  My beautiful friend will still like it even though I really wasn’t happy with this and wanted to make another but just haven’t been on top of things enough to do that.

Right now my studio is in disarray because we’re getting work done in the bathroom next to it so I had to take things off the wall so they wouldn’t fall thanks to the pounding.

I’m also flying out this morning to visit my son and grandchildren - YAY YAY YAY!!  I haven’t seen them for a year so I’m braving the airport of course fully observing all the precautions.  Sooo, I don’t think your week could possibly be is good as mine lol, but I hope it’s as close as it can get!!

I’ll still be stopping by to see what you create :) have a WONDERFUL week and thank you for visiting!
