Tuesday Morning Sketch # 345

Hello, thanks so much for stopping by!!  To say I had fun with this sketch would be a definite understatement.  I think the evidence below proves that. My second card is my entry over at the Color My Heart Color Dare # 186

I'm totally enjoying being on the Tuesday Morning Sketches Design Team and I really hope that you will play along this week with TMS # 345 too!  Oh yes, AND there's some booty to be won too, it's some Freckled Fawn embellishments provided by our Marvelous Melissa.  Plus, please say a little prayer or two for Jessi who is under the weather this week, so much so that she didn't even get to play and it was her sketch. :o(

Thanks again, now head on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches - I can hardly wait to see what you create :o)

Color Throwdown #384

Whew- what a quick week this was! I made this based on a Retro Sketches sketch but completly spaced the time and didn't get it entered.  Not to worry though I'm still in time for the color side of this little creation over at Color Throwdown #384

The main reason I was late for the sketch is because I knew it was missing something then decided that some stitching around the edge would be just what it needed, especially since I used fabric tape for the accents. I haven't sewn on a card that for quite some time and I don't think I've made a square card lately either but I have quite a few 4 x 4 bases so I think you'll be seeing more from me in the near future.

Thanks for stopping by :o)

I added liquid glass to the leaves and a little to the letters - something so small sometimes adds a big touch.

Yippee! I'm on the team :) TMS #343 + Simon Says Stamp

Here's my first card as a new member of Tuesday Morning Sketches Design Team - I'm so happy to be a part of them!  It's challenge # 343  - how about you play along too??? The sponsor this week is Craftin' Desert Divas they have some really cute stuff I'm sure you'll want to check them out.

I used a new adorable set from Simon Says Stamp that I just had to have because my oldest grandaughter loves unicorns.  I'm also entering it over at the Cupcake Inspirations challenge # 351 - rainbows.

Thanks for stopping by :)

CIC #350 + JUG #333 + FMS #226

I am so there when it comes to spring colors like these from Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #350.  I also love this simple sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #226 I think I may kick into mass production mode on this one - if I do I'll be sure and post the results. Plus what's not to love about a flower challenge like they have over at Just Us Girls #333??  This is a top fold card made from the leftover piece of 12 x 12 card stock that I cut a 5 x 7 card from - I feel likes that's a good cost effective way to use 12 x 12.    :o)

Thanks for stopping by!

TMS #341 Just Us Girls #333 & She's here!

Well I would have a frowny face right now because I see I goofed up and didn't get my card linked over at TMS  #341 in time :(  for some reason I had in my feeble brain that it closed on Monday.  Oh well, I'm still so jazzed about what happened this week that it would take a lot more than that to get me down.  Plus the Just Us Girls #333 challenge is flowers so YAY it will work for that.  I highly encourage you to visit both the challenges and play along sometime soon.

I'm not sure if you saw my last post but I was heading out to visit my two kids and their little families the next day.  So I had a wonderful first couple of days with all of them and then the BEST thing happened.  My newest little granddaughter was born while I was there!!  She was 6 days over due so I figured there was a good chance of that but as the end of my visit grew near I had to psych myself out for it not to happen.  The last morning my DIL's water broke and baby Solwyn arrived within a couple of hours.  She was born at home with a midwife what a blessing to be there!!!
So I got to spend the first 8 hours of her life with her and I am one grateful grandma.  I used some new paper from American Crafts that I picked up one day when shopping (and waiting for baby) with my other 4 grandchildren and a stamp set that I won from Verve Stamps a couple of weeks ago. I picked their Scripture Medley 3 set.  For this card I used the most appropriate scripture for how I feel in my heart right now :o)

I'm glad that I made my card before I realized I was too late for TMS because it was a really fun sketch and got my creative juices flowing.  LOL I did get a bit carried away with the enamel dots, I had even more on it but took off a few that I could safely peel off without damaging the paper.  Oh well it doesn't have to be perfect that's one of the fun things about hand made right?
