Believe it or not I did get a lot done this weekend. . . .the usual laundry, sweep, vacuum etc. I just took some fun breaks in between and it has made for a very nice couple of days. I did these two cards for Color Throwdown CTD261 and Tuesday Morning Sketches #217.
After I made the first one I got to thinking that I need a few birthday cards this week, so I made the second one for my sweet and beautiful niece. Her and her brother, my nephew share the same birth date 5 years apart! She is a teacher so I wanted to use the popular chalk board style stamping on hers - it's supposed to have that smudgy look.
I used Close to My Heart pigment inks, Indian Corn Blue and Creme Brûlée and cardstock - White Daisy, Topiary Buttercup and Black. Also, the CTMH stamp set For a Friend and one of our new adorable little single stamps (they're only 2.95!) Heartfelt Birthday Wish, all available on my site pattir.ctmh.com The flowers and pearls are from Michaels and the patterned paper is Pebbles Family Ties collection that I picked up at a friends craft store. I noticed that a couple of the DT at Color Throwdown used a pattern from the same collection, it apparently came right to their mind as soon as they saw this challenge too.
Well you know what they say about minds thinking alike :o) thanks for stopping by!
