April Layout for Spring/Easter

Meet Lucy...paper packet that is! This fun springy girly paper is so pretty, yet there is a great graphic pattern in Sweet Leaf (color) and another one that is sort of a texty pattern also included that would be very suitable for pages for the boys & men of our lives too.

I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge for the shape that "Spring" is stamped on in Creme Brulee. The cute stamp set is called "Peeps" - I'm sure it's pretty obvious why! The little bunnies can be stamped in almost any color and they're so cute you'll be glad you're not eating them.

I've already purchased another pack of the just plain pretty Bitty Buds because I love them so much I want to use them in so many ways!! The little grey mesh type flower is smaller and so much cuter than it looks in the catalog--I have a feeling I'm going to go through at least 3 packs of these before I'm done and on to my next embellishment addiction.

This year we're just adding a subtle little tag to our monthly layouts to indicate the month since not everyone uses their layouts for current chronological photos. They can add a title for the layout depending on what they want to highlight in the photos used. The Timeless Charms are so pretty you could actually make jewelry out of them! EEEK, I meant to do this last night so now I'm a few hours late but here we go. Here's a Valentine project. It's made with our Chipboard Banners, Rock the Block stamp set, and Roxy Paper. You can stick these in a pencil cup at work, a plant or flowers, or don't use the dowel and hang on the wall or on a gift bag.

December Project: January 2012 pages & card using Wonderland & Snowflakes

I joined an Art Philosophy blog hop hosted by Lisa Stenz! Hop on over to her blog for more wonderful creations using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge!

I have been looking forward to these December projects for months!! The main reason is because I just love this Wonderland Paper and Snowflakes stamp set. No my photography isn't the best but I may have thrown you off a bit with by pairing Wonderland with White Daisy paper for the layout and Colonial White for the card, as you can see it goes very well with both.

On the card we will be making the same type of little slits that you would for a pop up inside to hold the lip balm. I just so happen to find the balm that matched really well at Target, it's a little longer and slimmer than the usual type which made it so that we really don't need to score a spine along the back-nice & simple!

The Snowflakes set is so pretty and with the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge you can cut them out perfectly for stamping in a jiffy. Isn't that border stamp great too?! I will surely be using the sentiment "Each snowflake that falls reminds me of you--one of a kind" for each one of my grandchildren's pages as well as others too. I also used Rhinestone Designer Brads, Dark Chocolate Striped Grosgrain ribbon and Bling Assortment.

I have been so anxious to play with every single one of our new CTMH paper packets! It's great because it has really motivated me to create the monthly pages for my Year of Memories clubs really early.

Here is our November page featuring the beautiful Dreamin' paper packet. I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut the leaves at 2.5 to fit the Bohemian Alphabet letters, the little acorns are from the Harvest Happiness stamp set and the cartridge has an image of those you can cut to make it ever so easy to put those little cuties all over the place. Oh yes...I almost forgot the Harvest Mini Charms!

The Flutter Paper Shapes butterflies above were were colored with a Smokey Plum ink pad; using a marker, a CTMH Round Sponge, stamped with the back side of a My Acrylix stamp and lastly saturated in a bit of water and re-inker.

In a post below I mentioned that I would be using every bit of this beautiful kit and these cards are part of the fun I've been having with it. I used the cracked glass embossing technique. All the stamps are from the Sonoma Workshop on the Go set. Colors are Smokey Plum, Olive and Colonial White.
This card is an example of emboss resist technique.

This one is an example of regular embossing with white powder. The decorative strip in between papers is one of the features of our new papers.

This is out of order because I had some trouble adding photos the last couple of weeks but fortunately a new router took care of that! Here's the September page for my Year of Memories Club. I used the Sonoma Workshop on the Go kit and coordinating inks with some added Flutter Just Blooms Paper Shapes. The kit comes with this gorgeous stamp set and the vintage Pewter Mini Medleys. I will be using every last bit of these supplies and can't wait to try the stamp set with some other color combos.

All the layouts are sketches from Cherish, that made it very easy and quick, I finished all these in just two evenings.

You & Me kit---National Scrapbooking Month Special

I have all the details and more layouts in a recent posts below about this wonderful National Scrapbooking Month special. I made this layout of my son following the directions that come with the kit. The only thing I did different was use a different size photo, and since I like to stretch my supplies as far as possible; I cut out the B&T paper that would normally be wasted underneath my pic. The kit comes with instructions and supplies to make two layouts but so far I've already made 4 substituting a little here and there!

This stamp set that comes with the kit could not have been more perfect these pics of him in Nottingham...following his dreams!

For May in my Hostess Clubs we'll be using the Sophia Workshop on the Go kit to make our "June" layout. It's my favorite in our current catalog. I was trying to order items in the order of our projects but this one I knew I had to have as soon as I could get my hands on it. CTMH May Special, You & Me Kit, Norah's First Thanksgiving

Here's little Norah's first Thanksgiving pictures. When I first saw the May CTMH special You & Me kit I thought, hey I think those polka dots match the turkey I cut out a couple months ago on my Cricut using the Create a Critter cartridge...and look....it did match! The turkey is cut out of Bamboo, Smoothie, Cocoa and Honey cardstock. I added dots to his first layer of feathers using the period from the small Chocolate Alphabet set. The You & Me kit comes with instructions for two layouts but I switched it up a bit, by doing that I was able to use the polka dot paper to make 3 different 12x12 layouts! I also used some B&T paper from our Mayberry kit. You will be seeing a few more items from this very nice kit--I'm streeeetchiiiiinng it as far as possible because I like it so much, at least it's nice to have a stamp set to use and use and use even though the rest of the kit supplies will run out.

Here's a card I made using Sky & Cotton Candy Cardstock & Ink and the stamp set from the Sophia Workshop On the Go. I've had the ribbon around for who knows how long and of couse on the box are three of the fun flowers made with our scallop punch. I love the sayings You are so, and you can do Wonderful, Kind and Amazing. As soon as I saw the bird I knew I had to have it, and the flourish stamp in this set is one of the most pretty I've ever seen .

May...Pages, Project & Stamp of the Month

Here's the hostess club pages and project for this month. I decided on a box instead of a bag and if I do say so myself I think it's pretty nice. I really love the April Stamp of the month-Blessed and I'm looking forward to trying it out in some different colors although I always have loved this combo for just about anything. I used Pear, Gypsy, Sky and Heavenly Blue paper & ink. Our technique as planned was making our own B & T paper---the spray pen made it extra fun! I added a surprise technique...making paper carnations...I LOVE making them...oh so easy and they look fab(u-lous)! Just for kicks I thought I would show my first prototype layout. I was just not happy with it at first and as you can see I exchanged a couple of the Gypsy pieces with White Daisy and it really brightened things up...exactly what it needed for the bold summer colors. First prototype...

Ok, promise kept!! Here's baby Norah, and oh boy how could there ever be cuter St. Patrick's Day pics than these?? I may have gone a little overboard with the green but this sure was fun! I used some Christmas clearance alphabet stickers and St. Patty's embellishments that I've had for YEARS!! The clover and good luck stamps are from Jubilation; which will be the Stamp of the Month in June. All ink & paper is CTMH, (cute green polka dot paper is from the Sophia Lvl II kit). Punch is Martha Stewart.

Ok, ok so I promised that the next layout for Norah would have her pic's; but so sorry I had to do this one early because it has the March Stamp of the Month on it. I could not be more pleased with our new Pink Button Assortment, there are 72 extra cute buttons in a pack. With a new grandbaby girl to scrapbook I wonder how many packs I will use before it's all said & done!! As if there weren't enough options in each paper pack as it is, so many of our 8 new kits in the new catalog are perfect for mixing & matching i.e. Miracle and Sweetheart as I have done in this example.

Sheesh, I really thought I posted in January, but I guess it was because I got so excited and posted what I made with the January SOM so early. I JUST realized that so here's my hurried post since it's been so darn long....it's another layout to match one of Norah's outfits. I promise the next one I post will have her picture on it! As you can see I used the Create a Critter cartridge I LOVE it (the cartridge that is) I'll love the layout when I get my little cupcake's picture added. I can hardly wait to show you the layout I made her for Easter. Oh guess I should let you know I used CTMH Heavenly Blue, Sweet Leaf, Chocolate, Desert Sand, Cocoa and White Daisy Cardstock.

I just LOVE this stamp set. I looks great with the new Wings Paper Packet but I wanted to make something completely different and it was begging to be shown off using the Retiform technique. The Close to My Heart colors I used were Sunset, Creme Brulee, Tulip and Sweet Leaf. The layers are distressed with our round distressing tool.

In December my Year of Memories Clubs will be making their Feb. 2011 layout because the Stamp of the Month, Amore, is just perfect for it. So happy that I resisted the temptation to play with something else today; I actually made a second sample layout for January and February. I used Jingle and Magnifique paper packs. I really wanted to do a pink & blue combo instead of just pinks &/or reds plus thought it would be nice to use some Magnifique paper to transition easily from the January layout.

Got a little crazy with the Sparkles on my first layouts and used all the ones out of the packs that were the right color, there's lots more Sparkles left just not more of the colors I want for these projects. It's kind of good to see them with and without anyway. Here it is w/o Sparkles...

And here it is with....oh yes and on the top one, (which was actually the second one I made) I added some stamped cutouts, I will add those to this one too... since I'm calling the technique for this workshop Luscious Layers we may even add a couple more.

The monthly titles haven't been added yet because I was going to use the Field Trip Alphabet but, I changed my mind after I previewed the January Inspiration brochure. There's a new set called Bohemiam Alphabet that I can hardly wait to get my hands on....it's so perfect! It will be available as part of a very special deal in January too!!

The technique featured for the January page is embossing. We will stamp the peacock in Chocolate, stamp over it again with embossing ink, use clear embossing powder-then sponge some Pacifica & Lagoon over it. Our wonderful clear stamps, eliminate the need for so many different colors of powder - isn't that great?!

Introducing Norah....

Norah is my new little granddaughter, she was born on 11/16. Just when you think life couldn't possibly be more busy...IT IS! But in oh such a wonderful way. Praise the Lord for this beautiful baby girl! Here is a pic of her with my daughter on Thanksgiving.

Waiting for Norah

Well I really thought our little Norah would be here on or before today. Since she's not here yet I finished up the first layout that I have made for her. Actually the one that say's "Who's so Cute?" is what I made from memory of this little outfit; THEN I decide to get the outfit to see and whoa, figured I could match it much better than I did, so that is why I made the layout that says "Love who you are" a much better match and that is the saying on the outfit, shows how short my memory can be. I'm very happy with the results...used my little Cricut with the Create A Critter cartridge (long awaited for and so worth the wait I LOVE it), and yes I really did sew on the Love tag too! Colors for the top page are Close to My Heart, Grey Flannel, Colonial White, Pansy Purple, Amethyst, and Cocoa.

I love the Mistletoe paper and embellishments, it has a very balanced color scheme (as do all of our paper kits) to enhance photos. I may just have to pull out more of my photos from last Christmas because it's so hard to wait over two months before I can add pics.

Layouts always look so much better with pictures...nevertheless here is the layout that my clubs will be doing for their August photos. I'll try to post it again after the pics are added. This was made using the Splendor Lvl II Paper Pack & Designer Brads, along with Goldrush & Moonstruck Ink Pads and Markers. I used three stamp sets; Chocolate Alphabet, A Flitter and Card Commentary.

This layout really looks better in "person" I just stuck some pics from last 4th of July to get an idea of how it will look, I'll replace them with new ones asap. There is quite a bit of "white" space but some of it will be used for journaling. The design is from Imagine page 30, Timeline. The photos should really be 3 x 3 but mine are a little different, these sizes were quick to print and I didn't want to spend much time since they're temporaries. I love the Live Inspired stamp set, it has another bird in it on a branch that I can hardly wait to use. The paper is from the Zippidee Lvl II packet which is obviously made with the Disney/Amusment Park theme in mind but I really like challenging myself to come up with something different. The Dimensional Elements Stars are only $3.25 and you get a total of 25. This layout is one of the things my Hostess Club participants will be making in July.

Flower Pot - Center Stage Card

I don't usually spend quite so much time on a card but one of my groups reguested a Center Stage card. They saw a class for this type of card priced at $15 so I went and took a look. I didn't use as many embellishments as that class sample but LOTS of stamping, coloring and cutting. I must say I'm pretty darn happy with how it turned out. I added the top picture to show you that I ended up coloring over the shutters with a Brown Bag marker the Petal was just bugging me...ever have that happen to you?

Ohhhh coloring is SUCH good therapy! This is my first batch of the February Stamp of the Month "Piece of Cake" cards. I just love it!! I have stamped with every piece of cake in the set and it's so fun. I can't wait to show you the other batches in the next couple of days.

A Caboodle of Caboodle Stuff II

Here they are my adorable grandsons and a caboodle of Caboodle layouts! The first is the one I made for myself, then I made one for each of the boys' books, I'm trying to do several layouts each year for them. I really wasn't thinking and I used Heavenly Blue paper when really the color with the paper is Crystal Blue, but I think it looks fine...what do you think? The bottom layout was made literally with scraps as they just as they were cut from making the other layouts.

I made this card the other night when I popped up from sitting in front of the computer and said (to myself) "that's it I HAVE to have some fun making something". I was actually already having fun playing a game but really, what a waste of time that is, when I can be enjoying creating something that some one else will enjoy too? Anway about 15 minutes later, wha la, here is my creation...

I used the Felecity kit (Stamps & Paper) and Caboodle Paper and also January Stamp of the Month. It's hard to tell but the rings behind the bird are covered in Prisma Glitter, I punched them out of the left over sticky edging of some of the Caboodle Stickease.

Veranda & Topstitch Level 2 Paper Packet

If anyone would have told me on October 14th, 2009 that it would be over 3 months until I posted on my blog again I would have said "Yeah right!" This time my sabbatical was due to my camera breaking in the beginning; I really don't see much point in posting without pictures, I may rethink that later but for now that's my opinion. I got a great new camera for Christmas (more on that in the future) but since then life has been a whirlwind from Lindsay's wedding to my Grandson's being here for 2.5 weeks, to facing real life without all of them and back to catching up at work! Enough of that and on to seeing how I fare this go around!!

Here are the layouts we did in my clubs this month, we used Brown Staz on ink to alter the Filigree Charms, and homemade Pearl Mist on the flowers to make them well...pearly! To make the mist you simply use a very small spray bottle like those you can find in the travel container section. I used an empty My Acrylix Spritz Cleaner bottle, and mixed about 6 parts water to 1 part Create a Shade Pearl Paint, you can also add re-inker if you would like some color too. This was so quick, fun and inexpensive...how cool is that!

I LOVE ideas that use "staples" that I always keep on hand, because it's so easy to make custom embellishments on the spot when you need a little something extra. I kept the February layout more simple to save time since we were doing 4 pages.

Jingle + All Sorts Mini Album

This has to be one of the most enjoyable projects I've ever made! At least one of my workshops will be making this in November. Participants will purchase: All Sorts Mini (chipboard) Album, Heartfelt Die Cuts and Jingle Brads. I will provide the rest of the supplies. I estimate that you will only use about 10% of your HF Diecuts, that means you'll have lots more creating fun in store for your leftovers.

I just can't believe how neat the Heartfelt Die Cuts are, they look like just a few small little items in the catalog but as you can see this album is about 6.25 inches high and the Christmas tree is almost the same height! The pack we're using is called Wonder and there are 3 12x12 sheets, one each of Olive, Chocolate and Twilight. There is a wide range of cuts from large circle rings, stars, snowflakes, birds, leaves, swirls, and many more oh and I must mention there's even an adorable squirrel.

Here are three of the cards I made using the Sweet Home workshop guide. The guide includes cutting and assembling instructions for a layout and these three cards (x2), as well as photos of an additional layout and 3 more cards that you can follow our pattern books to make. We're using this paper for the September layout in my September clubs. Yikes...I don't exactly know what the card and 3-D project will be yet, but I have something Christmassy in mind.

Front Yard Fun

Here's those cute little grandson's of mine again, this time with their cute daddy too! I actually created this 2 page layout 3 times, one for each of the boys' books and one for mine. It took less than 1.5 hours to complete the 6 pages. They were all pretty close to the same, I did the journaling on my computer in "CTMH Hippo" font; that made it very easy to just copy and past to switch up the words just a little for each one depending on who it is for. If it seems crazy to make so many; so be it!! I just have a feeling that someday I could be giving the boys their books and I don't want to be giving up the only layouts I have of many of the pics. The supplies I used were...Back Country Level I&II paper kits, Rustic Alphabet and Backwoods stamp sets. And oh yes, of course Simple Stitches. Colors are Outdoor Denim, New England Ivy and Barn Red. On the level one kit I covered up the tree pattern paper, it felt at first like I was maybe wasting the premade pages, but for as quick as they all went together I decided that it was not a waste at all....good use of supplies actually. Granted these are VERY simple, however, layouts like these cost about $3 which is less than 1/4 of the industry average! Amazing.

Everyday Celebration Cards

I'm giving myself a week to get caught up on a back log of 2-do's so for today I had a bunch of fun to kick off a week of creative work. These are 1/2 the cards I made following the guide and instructions from the Everyday Celebration kit. I decided to save the remaining papers for a layout. Tomorrow I will post the other 1/2 of the cards made with Twitterpated paper. This kit is so nice, it includes everything you need to complete 16 cards, including the ink! The cutting guide and instructions are something that you'll want to use over and over again. You can make a pattern from one of the shaped cards so you won't hate using up the last one quite so much. I have to admit I'm surprised how much I liked the stamp set, since the August Stamp of the Month seemed so similar, but this one really has some extra useful stamps, I especially love the large dotted bracket stamp, the frame and "thanks so very much". The cake and the package were a good size and easy to stamp in two colors. The only other stamp I used was my trusty "Simple Stitches" set, I really never put it away I use it so much. You really don't need it for the cards but I have a hard time not throwing in a few faux stitches here and there. Sorry the pic's aren't the greatest, I really need some tips in that area.

Labor Day Weekend...Goofing Off...Fun!

I've been excited to scrap these pics since Lindsay took them on Mother's Day this year. Any day I get to see my any of my kids or grandbabies is a great day. Trevor left me the cutest messages during the day, I kept missing him, then finally when I called late to leave him a message he didn't answer but he called me back right away. . . it was around 11 p.m. their time!

Lindsay is such a little traveler she has been already overseas....I may never do that, there's still so many places I want to visit right here in our good ol' USA!

I would never have believed that I could let this much time pass in between posts. Oh well what's done is done. Here are some cards I made with the August Stamp of the Month. The textured cardstock is CTMH using Cuttlebug embossing folders. It works great to just layer 2-3 pieces of cardstock so the white core doesn't show through if you're not going to sand the embossed design. But the great part is you have that choice, of sanding then inking or chalking or sanding alone or just solid color.

This is a really fun set to work with . I think it would look great in any color. It would be very classy in Chocolate and Vanilla, I'll have to try that combo if I get "caught up" on some of my other stamping. I just love the tiny flower stamp, it's perfect for stamping on ribbon. I've been hording my Clear Tags, they're so neat though, what a great way to really add pizzaz quick and easy.

Tickled Pink....SCRAPS!

I had so much fun using up the scraps from the Tickled Pink kit. I made 21 cards in all after completing the 4 scrapbook pages as directed in the brochure. I altered my page just a little by cutting out the patterned paper that would have just been covered up by my photos anyway. I also added card bases and some other scrap Twilight cardstock. Eleven were 2.5 x 3.5, 9 were standard size, 1 was 5 x 7. The bling you see was a Connections Club reward last year. I also used my Cuttlebug, Winter Cozy Accents, White Daisy Grossgrain, Big Pinks and White Daisy flowers.

We scrappers take pics of some pretty odd things at times. This is a photo of a time that I actually cut up veggies and made homemade soup, no frozen shortcuts...that's not something that happens often in our house with work and such. Why post the picture?? This week I've been especially grateful for the habit of praying before eating. Something I usually take for granted, but lately things have been more crazy everywhere. I'm sure most will agree! Taking a few seconds to remember the Lord several times a day helps get me re-centered and focused on Him; it's a much needed peace-pause & a pray without ceasing reminder.

Truthfully, I don't know if giving thanks before a meal originated when Jesus fed the 5,000 or earlier but whenever it was I'm glad it did!

I'm not too good at photographing my layouts, they're not really as crooked as they look in the photos. These were all made with....you guessed it the Bella paper packet. I'm trying to finish up my 2008 album. I don't know if you've noticed but they are also the same sketch; Imagine/Monologue; any way you turn them the Imagine layouts look great.

This is such a pretty paper kit....oh but not only pretty. I started a masculine layout using it but that's not quite finished yet. Here's a boy layout using it and also a "pretty" one that you would expect when you first see the kit.

The March layout is what my Year of Memories clubs will be doing. For a spring layout I thought Petal and Hollyhock would go perfect with the floral pattern. Oddly enough those two colors of cardstock are not included in the kit; well maybe it's not odd, the colors included are much more classy.
