Heart 2 Heart Add a Photo Challenge

When I saw what the H2H Challenge was this week I just HAD to share about this card & photo.  The photo is my daughter with her baby doll, the card is one of the invitations to her baby shower, and yes she was having a girl!  Of course I wasn't thinking right when I took the photo that in 24  years I would be using it for this purpose.  I did think it later on, like when she was 10 and I started scrapbooking and making cards, that's when I knew that if she ever had a baby girl I would use this for her shower invitations.  Low & behold I was blessed to do just that!

Here's what I used:

CTMH White Daisy and Baby Pink Cardstock
Random ribbon & dotted paper from Hobby Lobby
Martha Stewart Edge Punch
Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss Embossing Folder

Color Throwdown Challenge 193

This is my first time playing along with this challenge it's  CTD193. The colors were more of a challenge than expected, I really had a problem with the magenta, thought it just wasn't going to happen.  But then I took a look at my enormous stash of stickers, embellishments and such and it all just started coming together.  The best part is I mixed some ribbon that I have had for years with newer supplies and it always feels oh so good to actually use things instead of just "collecting" that way I feel like I'm a crafter and not just a hoarder.  You know my fears of ending up on that hoarding show!!

H2H Challenge - Inspired by. . . cheese?

I hope I slide by with just enough distressing for the Heart to Heart Challenge...just wasn't in the mood to do much more than this.  I really like the look of  slightly distressed paper, it reminds me of some of my favorite cotton clothes, bet you have some like that that you've just enjoyed so long,  that although frayed and some holes about to peek though you're not ready to say "so long"?

Yes this card was inspired by creamy, natural mini Babybel cheese.  Boy those people do not take the adage "It's all about the presentation" lightly!  After successfully resisting many times, I eventually succumbed and brought home one of the little red net bags of yummy, natural goodness.

As for the presentation, first it's the red net bag, next undoing the bright red cellophane feels kind of like opening a Christmas gift, then the little tabs you pull perfectly divide the wax coating, reminding me of opening a plastic Easter egg to reveal a prize inside; quite a production for a couple bites of semi soft cheese.

Worth it?  Hmmm, it depends.  I'd say it's worth it at least once, even though the price for the little cuties is actually not all that bad at Costco, they may not be something I purchase regularly.  I'm appreciative of the "presentation" it did inspire me use these colors to make a few things and if you come visit again the red net may just show up on another creation sometime soon.

Here's what I used:

Dotty for You Paper Pack (only available until 5-31-2012)
White Daisy, Holiday Red and Sweet Leaf card stock
Red Button Collection
Paradise Paper Flower Collection
Colonial White Waxy Flax

Everything is Close to My Heart and available on my website, except for the red thread stiching and faux stitching I did with a PaperMate InkJoy pen, they sure are fun and they were only around $2 for a set of 10!  They're not archival so not good for scrapbooking but fine for other paper crafting.

Seeing red.

I was looking for a photo and came across this little set I made a while back.  When you're at a loss for inspiration take a peek at some of your past creative favorites and copy yourself sometime!!  I think that's what I shall do with this little ensemble.

Heart 2 Heart and MOJO240 Challenges

MOJO240
Post every day, yeah right!  The two main problems I had with accomplishing it this time is that a. I got sidetracked with this fun card that I made for the H2H and Mojo Monday Challenges so I set aside all the parts of the card I thought I would do for Tuesday and b. I'm so ashamed of my dingy looking pics from taking them all at night that I'm determined to start taking them in the morning or now that its actually light more often when I get home I can just quick take one like I did today.  Isn't the lighting so much better??
Yes, yes I know Dotty 4 You paper again...well, I may use this paper everyday for the rest of my life!!  Don't worry, I don't have an indefinite supply so I will run out eventually but for now I sure do love using it.   You can get a 24 sheet pack for just $5 with a $35 order, just order on my website   or email me and you can get some for yourself and  have all the fun I'm having too!
This was made with all CTMH products except for the ribbon, I got that at the $ store and had it left over from wrapping a baby shower gift.  I was so pleasantly surprised when I noticed that it went perfect with our Sky card stock.

Here's what all I used:
White Daisy, Sky and  Desert Sand Card Stock
Sweet Leaf and Desert Sand Ink
Sweet Leaf Marker
Bitty Buds
Blue Button Assortment
Waxy Flax
Cricut CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders

This is one of my favorite paper combos, hope you like it!

And here is the sketch:

How many days in a row?

Well I'm ready to give daily posting a try again....hmmmm, wonder how many days I can make it!  The colors for this card were inspired by a Trader Joe's bag.  For whatever reason I just haven't been inspired to make this flower into a traditional yellow sunflower yet but I'm working on it.  This the Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month for May 2012.  I LOVE this saying but...it's part of the upcoming July Stamp of the Month.  I do really like the words that comes with this May set too, I have already used the one on my Sunday card post a few times.
